Flower stamps

mmm, today my niece was here with my daughter and I decided to organise my stamp collection. After a few false starts I decided on a - Alphabet stamps, b - birthday, kids and Christmas stamps, flowers, then word stamps including phrases and then multi purpose stamps sets that have lots of different stamps in them. The most stamps I had were by far FLOWER stamps sets!! I kinda new this but it still blew me away the actual amount that I actually do own. Oh well. I love em!

Christmas Cards

Here is a card I made after I looked at Kristina Kwerner's website. Of course I was days late to do the challenge but it really inspired me to do something! Its using the Season of Joy stamp set - not just for Christmas hey! The colours were pumpkin pie, rose red (I think), sage shadow and whisper white.
And here is another creation using the instructions from Makeesha Byl's web site! Thanks Keesh. It is a CD pouch and we will be making one of these at my Christmas workshop on Tuesday 18th November at 730pm. Contact me for the details! We will be making some other projects too.

Thursday night (20th November @ 730pm) is the Christmas Card workshop which will be focussing on making easily replicable cards that you can glam up if you would like to!

Finally, Saturday will be the card organizer that I am going to finish off and show you soon, so check back for a sneak peak! Cheers, Helen xx

Anyone Up for A Challenge

Hi everyone

I'm planning on doing something that a lot of bloggers are doing! A colour challenge!! So once a fortnight I will offer a challenge to anyone who wants to play along...If you email me a photo of your card or layout I will post them on here and we can see what people can do!

Check out the photo of the colours opposite! This is from a new shower curtain package...Nice colours and they got me inspired. I will post my creation soon. The colours are tempting turquoise, soft sky, river rock, certainly celery and very vanilla. You can use any similar colours of course.

Crazy Christmas Chaos

Yes, I know I am very naughty. Life is just so busy right now and with Christmas looming it will only get much worse! So I am having all my Christmas craft sessions next week! I will probably do one more too when the new minicatalogue comes out too.

Session 1 Gift Tags, CD holders, Tuesday 18th November 730pm $10 for 3 projects

Session 2 Christmas Cards Tuesday 20th November 730pm $10 for 3 cards and suitable for all experience levels.

Session 3 Gifts Plus Saturday 22nd November 2-5pm Cost is $25 and includes a cool card centre for yourself or a friend. This price includes your 3x3 cards, full size cards and gift tags. You are welcome to bring along your own cardstock and patterned paper or you can use mine. This photo is from Dannies Designs, a really cool website that I got the idea from. Spring Fever

Hi everyone. How are the school holidays going? Everyone, except Deb can answer that! Being in Broome excludes you Deb!
I have been going mad with cleaning, organising and just have labelling to go! My craft stuff has been sorted, the good stuff saved and the not so good ditched! I've moved all my craft stuff out of the lounge area into the alcove behind breakfast bar. Hopefully this will improve my creative flow. Certainly makes the lounge look more spacious.
Happy Birthday Stampin'Up!
Well, I'm off to see what else I can clean out or throw out!

Stampin'Up! Regional Event September 13th 2008

Yes, don't fall off your chair! I finally downloaded my photos tonight from last weekend so I can publish them here!! The pink card on the left is 3 little cupcakes made from the tab punch. You fold them in half. I then punched doublesided paper for the top of the cake to look like 100's 1000's and highlighted some of them with crystal effects and dazzling diamonds. Thanks for your great idea Sherylee!
The surfing santa is a slider card using the word window punch. A bit complex to explain but I think it was on Tami White's blog that Annette told me about. Thanks Netty!
The scrapbooking page was made using the spiral punch. Love that punch. I stamped the letters using versamark on basic black cardstock and the big deal alphabet and cut them out. The embellishments were also made from punches - the scallop punch. You punch out the image then stick onto a post-it note and punch it again. I used the black journal pen along the left and bottom side to journal about this day.
The scallop card was made using doublesided paper. A circle is punched out using the 1 3/8 punch, then the slit punch is used to create the scallop.
The other scalloped image was a boo boo! I was a bit tired and grabbed the 1 1/4 circle punch and the slit punch wouldn't fit!!! So I punched another circle and then trimmed it a bit to make a little mini album! Cherita pointed out if you were trying to do this you could use a tab punch and it would be a lot easier! Very true and I will try this now I liked the outcome! I decorated the spring flowers paper with the 1/2 pearls from the fab Pretties kit, stick them on with crystal effects.
The other card with the fish from the Life's a Breeze I used the slit punch again to make the waves. I've used crystal effects to make the fish glisten which you can't see here.
Well, hope you are still awake! If you would like more info, or would like to order any of the things I've talked about then please leave me a post!

I'm Home!

Hello, I'm back from Bali and need a holiday to recover! It was great fun, we went bike riding through picturesque country side, went to a cooking school called Bumbu Bali to learn about the Indonesian food and culture. Of course there was heaps of shopping, drinking and talking and laughing! I had quite a nasty bout of bali belly, not helped by Pauls fantastic cooked breakkie on Sunday morning!!! ust couldn't say no. All good now and I'm busy unpacking stamping orders and about to make some wedding invitations for some customers. So life goes on....

Bali Here I come!

Can't believe its finally tomorrow Annette, Carol and myself head to Bali for our big trip! Its been a big build up. The case is packed, the dogsitter organised, passport, ticket etc all sorted. Phew. Apart from that I just sat my theory exam for the Immunisation certificate and passed.
I've had quite a few parties recently and have one booked for the day after I get home....I'm really enjoying them.
Here is a card I made today for Colby to take to his friend Finn's birthday party tomorrow. I've just realised that the water probably should be up the other way!!lol. Oops.
And here is a pic of the cake I made for Colby's 7th birthday.
Bye for now. See you in a week.

I'm BACK!!

Sorry everyone. Its been a frantic few weeks, with workshops and madly making my 30 swaps, 18 birthday invitations as its Colby's birthday today - 7!! 16 children came and it was fun! Poor Colby is sick and went and put himself to bed....He's awake now, his temp having come down from 39 degrees.
Now I only have 7 more sleeps til we fly to Bali!! I am so looking forward to it now that Colby has had his party.
I'm going to try and post some photos tomorrow sometime.

Computer Problems

Good afternoon. Sorry about the delay in posting but my compNumbered Listuter has been doing some weird things. Anyway, its letting me post today so that's all I care about...

Its been a great week! Lots of beautiful weather.

Here are some pictures from my bike ride last week! Yes, Deb and I did the 20km trip in 40 minutes each way. We were happy with that. I was so energised after it but did have a little rest on the lounge in the later afternoon. I came home and cleaned out the front patio area. Went quite mad cleaning up!

Isn't this just a spectacular view? This is John's Creek, around the 7km mark from Wickham where we stopped for a quick break.

We are planning another ride on Monday but may end up walking depending on the wind.

Last week I also had my water colour workshop. Then I finished off my swaps - the theme being animals. Can't wait to see all the others!!

This card uses the ladybird from Garden Whimsy, stamped in real red and then stamped off to look like like movement. You can't see but the antenae all have dazzling diamonds on them too!! The word phrase is "Happy" from the set Life Definitions. The colours are green galore and real red and tempting turquoise. There is also some natural twine too. I cased this from splitcoast stampers.

These cards were also cased from SCS but had yellow buttons. You can't beat red, white and blue for a nautical theme though! The stamp set is Boatloads of Love. This is a great set and I know I'll be using it again soon. I've also used my paper piercing mat as I am trying to practice getting things right the first time!! I've watercoloured using the wc paper with the crayons, also used the word, window, brads and brilliant blue and whisper white cardstock.
That's it for now. Every Tuesday (computer willing) I am going to try and update my blog with pics! Thanks for looking and have a great long weekend everyone.

I'm BACK!

Well, its been a slow process but I'm all better. Thanks to everyone for their messages! I've been madly making up for lost time as I didn't finish my swaps but am nearly there. Last night was my watercolour workshop. It was a bit quiet but I actually got to make another card myself. It was nice to have 2 new ladies come along too - Danya and Christie! The only 2 that came, and Kari dropped in to say hi too. I'm going to take some photos of the cards that I've done tonight and hopefully post them for you to see.
But now, I'm off to mow the lawn and hang out the washing!! Sunday I'm riding my bike from Wickham to Point Sampson with Debbie and Carol, some friends from work. Now I can't get out of it as others are going. Its 10km one way, not sure if I'll be able to ride back once I stop!!!
Chow.

Hello!

Woe is me!

Hi everyone. Well its been a crazy but good week. I had my first demo since November last year! Thanks Danya and Lorraine. It was nice to get into it again and look forward to doing some more soon.
I hurt my upper back near my shoulder late yesterday and am in so much pain. I couldn't even face scrapping this morning...I did go down to say hi and drop off some stuff.
Next week is my watercolour workshop. Of course I will be demonstrating watercolouring and have a new stamp set to play with. So come along Thursday 22nd May at 730pm to have a go.
I'm off to have more pain killers, maybe I'll read a scrapping mag too!

I've been tagged!

Thanks Makeesha for tagging me!! Her link is www.makeeshabyl.com.au

So what I have to do is tell you 7 things about myself, some weird apparently!! Then list seven people who have to do the same thing, I leave a comment on their blog so they know they've been tagged.
1. I don't have a real sister but lots of very close gf's who are so important to me. My good friend Kari gave me a Mothers Day present today - a foldable basket. Thanks Kari!
2. I used to be a qualified veterinary nurse, am a midwife but am a school nurse now - which I love! Today is International Nurses Day by the way!!
3. I have two very lovely kids.
4. If I don't get enough sleep I'm incredibly grumpy!
5. I want to live my life with no regrets and try and remember that this is not a dress rehearsal!
6. I dream of moving somewhere cheaper to live but can't leave Karratha just yet!!
7. My favourite thing to do is take my kids for a bike ride. (when they are asleep my favourite thing to do is scrapbook, make cards and sleep!!)

I'm going to cheat and post my tags websites separately as I have things to do!

Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day everyone
Hope you all have had a great day. Here are some photos of a scrapping with your stamps workshop that I did a few weeks back now. The Princess one is by a first time scrapper! I've been busy scrapping heaps of photos, well into my card swaps now and just sent an email out about my next card workshop! Phew, must find time to hang out that washing sometime!

Scrapping

Well now that I've recovered from the frenzy of making stuff for the Mothers Day market I did a little bit of scrapping last night and possibly some more tomorrow night too. Sigh if only I didn't have to work! LOL.
My next big challenge is to get cracking on the card swap for the Stamparoos, when I have to make 22 samples of a card featuring animals. I have an idea in mind (thank you for www.splitcoaststampers.com) and must do that soon.
No other news to report at this stage. Will be posting some photos of the card swap from last week very soon. 2 more people are sending in their swaps and we are finished.

Market Day

Market Day

These are rescue bags that I made using Angela
Moss convention swap idea. Instead of lollies, I had ferro rochers, bath salts, nail file and a tea bag. They sold really well. I used the stamp set Garden Whimsy and Life Definitions for these.
The opposite phote is of my stall and all the stuff I took.

My favourite cards using the Garden Whimsy set again, two step stamping and chalks over the flowers and stems. You can't see from the pic but it has some of the new textured paper too. Love that paper. Then of course my favourite stamp set ever SCRIBBLE THIS. This is a similar card to my convention swap. I'm never selling this set, even after it retires! I took a couple of orders for magnetised shopping lists which I will get onto tonight! Have a great day, I'm off to get my car..

Mothers Day Market

Since I went to convention and saw the demo on watercolour, I've been colouring everything in the Fun and Fast Notes on watercolour paper and creating lots of little cards. So much fun.
I'm having a stall this Saturday at the Karratha Arts and Learning Centre and I've been busy making cards, bags, picture frames, notepads and lots of other stuff!
Personally its been a tough week with fatigue, hormones and just life's everyday challenges getting to me. Last night some of the Stampin'Up! demos came over and we made swaps for our very first card swap together. It was fun, and we will take it in turns to host the monthly swap and set the challenge.
Karen gave me the link to this really fun site. Haven't had too much of a chance to play yet but have a look and see what you think...http://www.scraptitude.com/colorcombo/

Convention Photos

Convention swap

Outback Spectacular - Helen & Monica

Good morning everyone
Here are some photos of Convention 2008. Photos never convey the emotional aspect of an event...I look at these photos and straight away think back to some of the funniest and emotional times. Lots to scrapbook! Highlights for me were the road trip we took up to the Tamberine mountains. The views were spectacular and lots of great little shops. It was raining and cold - a nice change from Karratha. That night we went to Outback Spectacular which was fantastic.

This is the swap that I made for convention. It uses my favourite stamp set Scribble That, dazzling diamonds, crystal effects, white gel pen and white craft stamp pad. I made a 12x12 layout for a workshop and adapted it for a card. Its very quick and the word can be changed to suit the occasion. I've used the word punch for that.
Well better go. Have a great day. Helen

Demonstrator of the Year 2008

Hey everyone!
So excited!! I'm away on the gold coast right now having just attended the Stampin'UP! Conventiona and awards night for 2008. It was so much fun and one of the highlights was seeing so many of our team totally kick butt!!
Ngaire Anderson who is my upline, won DEMONSTRATOR OF THE YEAR !! OMG. She also won for the most sales, received cash for reaching $100 000 sales milestone and is just the most gorgeous person you will ever meet. GO Ngaire! Go Ngaire!!
Also Cherita won an award for her sales, as did Skip for her number of recruits, Makeesha for lots of things including a new award. Heart of Stampin'Up! which recognises a demonstrator for doing something really great for others. Keesh organised a big stamping day in Perth and donated her total commission to Breast Cancer research, after Louise Ryan was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time at only nearly 40 years of age. Our whole group were in tears, I'm crying now just trying to write about it....OK, got myself together now. Kerrie and I were sobbing on the night. Keesh won a beautiful necklace.
Well, I'm off its my last day here and gotta post off some stuff. Plus saw some gorgeous clothes yesterday, don't know how I'm going to fit them in the case!!! Hels xxxxooo

Hi everyone. Well it is the last day of the catalogue but so can't wait to order from the new one!! Wait til you see it. Please contact me to order your copy now or to book a demo!! I may go out to Dampier market tomorrow weather permitting so you can check it out there too.

This is a card that I made with my upline in Perth a while ago. It was made using a technique called crayon resist. It is really effective.
Well, apart from me going to Brisbane on the 8th April for the convention there is not a lot to report! I've been doing heaps of scrapping and not much card making. I look forward to seeing you soon.

Sneak Peak Stampin'Up! Stuff

Well, very exciting stuff. Logged onto S/U website and there was the April workshop wizard with some very tantalizing new products for us all to drool over. Can't wait to see the new catty!
23 more sleeps and leave for Brisbane to attend the Convention.
Tried to upload my word document but won't let me :( I'm going to finish off a card I'm making with one of the new sets (we received as a Xmas present from Shelli) so stay tuned.

Happy Daze!

Well, I feel like a new woman. Kate has slept through the night for a whole week and has even worn nickers a few times for me. She also sat on the toilet for about 10 minutes and read a book! This is major progress as she has refused point blank to wear nickers and try and do wees on the toilet....
So I start my new job next week and am looking forward to it. I also have another card night at my house Tuesday night and am getting ready to go to Brisbane for the Stampin'Up! convention.
This week I did another 3 scrapbooking pages and am organising a buy, swap and sell event for crafters to get rid of their excess stock!!! Mainly me I think...Anyway. Will post some photos next time.

A New Job

Well, tonight is my last night duty at the hsopital. I've finally admitted to myslef that its too hard to do shift work and have good quality family life.... So I have increased my hours at Population Health and will be working in school nursing at Roebourne and Wickham and also more hours of Positive Parenting Program.
I continue you to love my stamping and scrapping. This week I did 3 pages which I love. Will photograph and post when completely done.
My gorgeous daughter turned 3 a week ago today. I made her a Dora cake which she loved.
Goodnight for now.

Sunday 3rd February, 2008

Good evening, well as promised I am adding to my blog. We had a nice night of cardmaking last night. My apologies to those I didn't contact, just had the computer rebuilt!!
Sherylee, who has just signed up with Stampin'Up! did a really lovely set of cards which we all loved! Well done!
At the moment I'm madly making wedding invitations and some Chinese Year New cards and my table looks like a bomb has hit it...Oh, well at least I'm being productive. And the 5 birthday cards for my Febraury birthdays and Kate's 3rd b'day party invites. HELP!!
School is back tomorrow and I can't wait, secretly I think Colby is too!!
That's all folks, til next time...

I'M Back!!!

Well, its been a long time between posts and I must apologise. Life is just so busy!! Well Christmas was lovely and Karratha saw some rain late in the evening which was nice. The kids liked their pressies too.
I took the kids to Coral Bay for four nights which they loved. The trip down was not so much fun but..the weather was awesome and I met some lovely people down there. The evenings were spent relaxing watching the kids run amok with lots of other kids! Now they've gone to Perth and I'm at work, trying to catch up on some jobs and keeping myself generally very busy.
Well, as far as stamping and scrapping goes I still have a lot of unfinished projects...However have just agreed to make a 100 wedding invites, so the other stuff will remain unfinished for a bit longer!
This month is also the start of Sale-a-bration for Stampin'Up! If you spend $100 you get to pick one of four free stamp sets, for every $100 you spend. If you host your own party and sales reach $600, the hostess receives a free set.
Til, next time chow!
