Last Days for Spring Mini!!

One more thing!!! The last day to order from the Spring Mini is tomorrow 9pm our time. So if there is something you have been thinking about don't forget to get it now!! Send me a text or drop me a line through here or my email.

I'm Back

Hello. Well I sorta disappeared off the face of the earth there for a while but I am here. I've packed up all my house, the truck left Wednesday afternoon for Perth. My house has been painted inside and looks amazing. Just waiting for the flooring to be done - next week and I'm ready to move in.
I've decided to stop off in Exmouth though on the way outta Karratha on December 18 as I think it would be nice for the kids and to have some relaxing time too. I really just want to get to Perth and get the boxes unpacked but the kids won't be that into that I'm sure...So we hit Perth December 22nd at this point. I will have company for the drive down too as Amy has an appointment in Perth. It will be great to have some company and the kids will like it too. As you could imagaine I really haven't done much in the way of scrapping or card making except at Friday scrapping last week. I kept some stuff with me so need to finish off Christmas cards and teachers gifts, etc.
Well, that's it for now.
Here is the truck that has our stuff in it!!

Checking in!!

Hello out there. Hope you are all well and surviving the school holidays. The weather in Perth has been awesome. The first 2 days were chilly but now its glorious spring days. Big biy has been going to Tball each day for 4 hours this week so that has given me some time to get into the house stuff.
So today I stripped off some more wallpaper, had a painter visit for a quote. Finally have given up on the other 3 walls in my room and am going to hire a steamer from Kennards. It is horrible old vinly wall paper that has been glued down with god knows what. I've tried all sorts of commercial preps recommended by pro painters and the general public!! So wish me luck with that one tomorrow!! Nighty night.

Thankyou!

A big thankyou to the people who stopped and by and left me some comments over the last day or so! It was so nice to hear from you. Today I've been to the tip, cleaned the inside of my car.
Just waiting til this arvo to do the outside. Also lots of washing so I can pack for our road trip on Tuesday.
As promised, some photos of cards. My favourite set at the moment would have to be Holiday Lineup. Here I've used some retired DSP that I still adore, punched out a very big red circle and added my stamped image. You can't see very clearly here but I also added some dazzling diamonds using my crystal effects. A green galore circle would be nice too.. The blue card is a CASE from our Demonstrator swap which has been a very useful resource.
These cards (triangle trees) are CASED from Brenda Wand who is also a Stampin'Up Demonstrator. I haven't quite finished these as there is no sentiment on them but they were nice and simple and fun to make. A great way to use up those left over bits of DSP we all have floating around. Pop a dimensional underneath the trees.
The ruby red and real red cards are cased from Maryanne Johnston but I have used a different punch along the bottom and missed out on some of the other features she used. Again I've used the Holiday Lineup and the scallop flower punch with the circle to create the spotlight effect.
And finally, a card I made for my dear dad using the Sense of Time stamp set. I have used the Parisian Breeze DSP from the spring mini and its devine. Quite thick and textured. I have used bleach to stamp onto choc chip and creamy caramel card stock. To finish it off I have added something from the hodgepodge hardware. Well that's me done! Now i'm off for a few weeks so I won't be posting anything. But please stop by soon. I promise to post again!

Go the Cats!!

Well done to Geelong. While I was hoping that St Kilda would get up they gave it a redhot go!! Anway after a conversation with Sherylee (hi Sherylee!!) she said I hadn't been posting any pictures for a while. I had a think and I agree. It's not like I haven't been making anything! This week I have made 14 cards and 2 6 x 6 layouts!!!! The last scrapI went to a also made 13 cards. Mmm so today I have some photos for you.
Firstly my attempts at Keesh's latest colour challenge - which I loved and ended up doing 2 layouts for..The colour is not the best in this picture so best look at the others!I have heaps more to show you but check back in tomorrow and I will post then!! Apart from making cards I have been frantically cleaning out, throwing out and generally getting ready for the big move which is just looming ahead so quickly now. The house settles on Tuesday and we are driving to Perth that day. Can't wait to get down there and know it will be mine!! The kids are all enrolled in school, I have a job interview this coming Friday and it is all action stations!! Talk to you soon. Don't forget to leave me some comment LOVE now!! You know who you are lol.

A nice Monday???

hello there. I thought I was in for a nice Monday, I really did. I had a pretty horrible weekend with my DIT (diva in training). Who am I kidding? She is a full blown DIVA!!! So it was actually a really nice start to the day. Both kids in bed with me and everyone being pretty nice to each other....Then DIT realises that I didn't pack some green piece of crap in her lunch box when we got to kindy. Like lava spewing out of a volcano she lost it. I was really cool (amazingly) and she did calm down and let me leave.
Then work was fairly busy and heading back in to Lifestyle Triple P at 7 and home by 920. Ahhh, sitting in front of the television relaxing for a bit. Monday over - bring on the rest of the week. It could only get better. Right?

Another Finished Product

Hello again. I started this layout ages ago at a workshop demonstrating embossing on patterned paper, and then was waiting for the photos to come from Harvey Norman. There should be another 2 layouts that I can finish this arvo now I have the photos. So this photo is taken of Paul and I are at the Margaret River Chocolate Factory in Swan Valley. We had a scrumptious morning tea which I am going to make another layout of sometime soon. I've stamped a swirl in versamark and then embossed it. To make the border I used the jumbo wheel Friendly words. There are 3 types of stamping on here I've just realised! The title are using glitter letters from Deb's shop. They are really great to make a quick title. To make the + I chopped off the curve on a 'T"!

A little Creative Advice needed please

Hi. Hope you are enjoying this beautiful Pilbara Sunday afternoon. It's glorious. I know I should be outside but the kids are happily playing with the neighbours so I'm sneaking in a little scrapping. So I've been working on this layout and I am a bit stuck. Tell me which one you thinks looks best to help me over this hump! I've lost the 'R' sticker! The first word on the ribbon should be Road. Ok well I'll be waiting to hear from you so I can get this layout in an album. BFN!!

Mad Maniac Monday again

I really don't know what it is about Mondays that make me so emtional. There has been tears (mine), temper tantrums (also mine) and lots more! I'm feeling better now after a coffee from muffin break and we are heading out to Dampier skate park for a play soon. But first a photo of a card that I made using the fan folding flower tutorial on split coast. Best you go there for a look rather than me bungle my way through the instructions for you. I've used the leftover edge from the scallop edge on this card too. It was really quite simple to do and effective. The photo doesn't do it justice.

Here in Karratha we have a festival called FENACL which stands for the mineral wealth we have in our area ie FE= Iron ore, NA CL etc mind is too blank right now! Anyway its lots of fun with lots of rides and community info. Lots of giveaway too. I got a couple of the new energy reducing light bulbs, water bottles, a really cool fly swap made out of a kids thong (flip flop) which could double as a bottom slapper if they were naughty lol!! Sadly one of the last things I saw last night was a little fella break his arm going down this fun slide. In all the years I've been, its the first time I've seen an injury occur.

My kids loved this ride. They are right on the back here close to the number 10! Can't wait to get scrappin' on these photos but still am making my way through this massive list of unfinished pages and projects that I have in my stash. It is a really good feeling to be working through some of the stuff. Today I finally ordered a replacement mat for my kids trampoline. Can't wait til it gets here. BFN

A new year

Hello, I continue to have problems with posting pics but will hopefully get it sorted soon. Well, today has been a lovely day. It's my birthday and a very lovely one. I was given a very lovely silver seahorse from my children which Kate came up with the name "Seahorse trophy"! Kids are so funny. Paul arrived today for his first 2 week stint since he left Karratha. It was lovely to have him here for the day. We went out to Chinese for tea with Paul, Colby, Kate and my brother Steven and his girlfriend Amy. It was a really nice meal and a fun night. According to my son I am 44, really I am only 38!! Hehe, still lots of candles on that cake!!

Maniac Monday

Yep, don't know what it is about Monday but I wish it would stop! Today I tried to get the kids organised to get to daycare and vac care. My 4 year old now hates daycare since she started kindy....So I drive off from dropping the kids off at 1015! I drive to the shops intending to take a breather, grab a coffee and head to work. The line for coffee was huge so I headed to Coles to grab a few essential items like bread, milk, fruit and the mint slice biscuits. Once I was home I made a coffee, got into bed with my packet of mint slices and a book. I ate the whole pack, finished my book and went to sleep. Ahhh. have to say it has done wonders for me. I got up and cleaned out the 4 yo room, rearranged my lounge and did a few other jobs. Hope you had a good day. Be back very soon.

I'm still alive!

Hi everyone. It's been so long...I've had major computer issues which led me to go and buy a new computer and I had a miserable couple of weeks. Our little dog Foxy was run over 2 weeks ago and that was the start of a pretty horrible week. This week has been better. I've put an offer on a house that I think will be accepted, so that is pretty exciting! And scarey.

Today I went to the KALC and took lots of unfinished pages. I have so many unfinished things in my life...I finished off 4 pages in just under 2 1/2 hours. One only needed journalling but still an accomplishment..
Here is a pretty bad photo of a card we made at my first at home workshop in ages! The theme was resist! This is the emboss resist technique which I love. I also made a card with the crayon resist technique but the photo was on my mobile and it was horrible!

It's Saturday night in ....Karratha!

Hi everyone
Can't believe its Saturday night and I haven't posted....It's been a busy week with seeing Jon Stevens live - excellent! I have always loved live music and haven't had the chance for a long time to see a band. Last night some of the mums and teachers from Karratha Primary headed out for dinner. It was a lovely night. Today was soccer and I am whacked! All week I've had a nasty head cold and feel very tired.
I have done quite a bit of catch up on my scrapping pages that I've started and not finished. This includes three 40th album's!! I am going to take some photos tonight and will post tomorrow. Night!

Home from Convention 2009

Hi. I'm back from Convention and really inspired, exhausted and ready to get into some scrapping! I will post some photos very soon. The flight over was heaps of fun but the trip home began at 0500 (0300 Perth time) in the morning! I arrived back in Karratha at 430pm. I couldn't sleep I was so pumped after the convention dinner and awards ceremony! My roomie Jenny and I sat up talking, finally reading and then passing out about 1ish!!
I am excited to say that I won a little award and got to hug the CEO of Stampin'up! Shelli Gardner on stage. I didn't think I had met any of the requirements to gain an award so I was very thrilled. Not that I do this for awards I love Stampin'Up and all the wonderful people I've met through it.
This month you can join Stampin'Up too for only $150 and get ALL the benefits! You get a special Scrapping starter kit plus business building supplies. Even if you only order once and just use your 30% first order discount you will be so far ahead it's just not funny!!! If you want to know more please leave me a message and I can contact you about signing up! Chow for now.

MMM TWO

Hi. Just a quick one as I'm meant to be asleep! We are heading off to Broome tomorrow and I think I've packed everything!! So no MMM tomorrow, hence my post now.
Well last week we farewelled a fellow scrapper and also one of my downline. Terri, we will miss you. Scrapping on a Friday morning is our therapy session - we seem to take it in turns to come in in tears! It's been great getting to know you. See you in the big smoke soon!

This is Annette on the left and her son Jack. Net is also in my team and has just turned 40!! Woohoo! She's gonna kill me for this.... Terri is on the right with a gorgeous photo she received.

And here is the scrap page I started as part of a sketch challenge moons ago!! This is the one the grasshoppers ate! Anyway its done except for the journalling! Night and chat soon.

MMM

Well what can I say. Its Easter Monday, I finally have a child free day and so does Paul! I've gorged myself on chocolate. There's coronas chilling, lemon ready to go!! I've started a new design for my convention swaps so have really achieved quite a bit.
I am working tomorrow, doing some catch up after the after math of the last stressful month. Next Monday I will be kicking back in Broome at the Palm Grove Hotel with my good mate- Helen and her 3 kids and my 2 kids....Bring it on I say.
Well that's it for me. I should have something to post tomorrow.
Amy comments left between now and Wednesday midnight will go into the draw to win a free stamp set so leave me a message!

Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone. Hope you are having a very nice day. I saw on Makeesha Byl's website a sketch challenge which I decided I would do. Since then my computer crashed - literally on the floor. I did the challenge, left it on the table and went to bed thinking I'd finish it in the morning. When I got back to it the next day I was stunned to see some strange marks!! Can you see them? We have had quite amazing rainfalls a month or more back resulting in mass plagues of grass hoppers! I can only think that these are the culprit as I also had lavender lilac and basic black cardstock out too. Obviously the creamy caramel was more suited to their diet - I guess it does look like dried grass a bit lol!! So I decided to keep the layout and write on the back about the pesky lil 'hoppers! These grasshoppers have kept the Pilbara kids fully entertained as they catch them, (keep them in tissue boxes after I rescued my good tupperware thankyou very much!!) then release them or forget them and rediscover them dead. The other thing we have lots of at the moment is big fat hairy huntsmen spiders! Every night before bed I'm having to do the spider patrol. One night I tried to catch one, failed after it jumped at me and I resorted to spraying it. Then it disappeared - dammit! That was it, Colby refused to sleep in this room. I'll post the finished layout later tonight.

MMM

Well its nearly Wednesday and I am doing my first Monday madness post. That should say it all really! Computer issues after my computer fell off the computer desk arrghhhh! Thanks Paul for putting it back together f or me :). We went to a free Easter egg hunt at a local park. There was face painting, bouncy castles, hair spraying - I had mine sprayed green which the kids loved! The hunt itself was really quite hard. The park is quite big and they used golf tees as its still pretty warm during the day here. Colby tried his absolute best but couldn't find one until the organisers ended up putting out a second lot of tees! Phew.
Apart from that, a lot of personal issues I've been having persist which is making life challenging. I've been off work for nearly two weeks now and there has been lots of progress in many areas with myself and my children so its been worth it. There is still a long hard road to go but I feel lucky in that I have my beautiful kids, an understanding boss and some bloody fantastic friends.

Some more cards

Yes its me again! I'm having a blogging frenzy! Underneath (to the left) are the Stamparoos Card Swaps that are in the mail! Thihs challenge was a masculine card. The base of these were simple enough using the fantastic Stampin'up! square punches but the letters I had to cut individually and it was a bit of a big job for me.

Next we have the Easter projects that I cased off the Splitcoast stampers!! They were fun and pretty easy to make too. The basket it actually too baskets taped together and then blinged up. The carrot is printed onto your cardstock, cut out and scored!
I have extra of these left over so if you want to purchase either or both of these projects please email me at home or message me through here. $5 per project and will include a stamped image from the Good egg set for you to use. Bye for now!

Helen

Another Challenge!

Isn't life just a challenge full stop? My gosh it's really hard work sometimes. But here I am playing along with another of Keesh's challenges. I found these colours a little tricky, although I found a card that I had made using most of the colours but with sage shadow instead!
So I have used used rose red as the base, pumpkin pie and the scallop border punch, regal rose c/s over the top of this and the flowers are rose red, pumpkin pie and rose red stamped off once cos I don't have regal rose stamp pad (can you believe that?!) all stamped on whisper white c/s. There is also dazzling diamonds on the flowers but it doesn't show too well....The stamp set is the fantastic Seasons of Joy which I really love to use for any occasion as you can see.
Today is the first official day of the new Ideas Book and Catalogue. The first person to leave me a message on here will receive a copy FREE!! (Excluding demonstrators). So leave me a message!

Makeesha's Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone. Hope you are enjoying the long weekend. Here is Makeesha's latest sketch challenge which I am actually hoping to post on her site. I've done a few now and they are great for inspiration.

The photo below is my first attempt. Wasn't quite sure about it but decided to post it anyway. I've used the chunky glitter and bali breeze paper both from the minicatalogue. If you want any other info contact me.

The other card is also using the Bali Breeze dsp and some ribbon from sherbet collection. Also you can see the diamond brad in the centre of the flower from the pretties kit. One of my favourite things to do with these is to pop them out of the brad and use them flat.
I'll be posting the retired list from the Stampin'Up! 2008/2009 catalogue soon so order quick as there is lots of great products going for good.
